ZipScan searches archive files: Zip, CAB, RAR, ACE, InstallShield CAB, JAR, TAR, GZIP, Z, ZOO, LZH, CHM and OpenOffice files, including password-protected, nested and self-extracting archives. Supports text searching, date-restricted searching, version resource searching. Files found can be opened, viewed and extracted. ZipScan can extract both Microsoft and InstallShield CAB files. ZipScan supports CLASSPATH searching to find .class files.

SharpZipLib is a free, open-source compression library for .NET. It supports Zip, Gzip, Tar, and Bzip2, and also computes checksums. The library currently lacks Zip file splitting/spanning, customizable self-extracting Zip files, and reading and writing directly to memory. It is ported from the GNU Classpath Zip library for Java. The library and source code is distributed under the GNU General Public License, with an exception.
